DSD awarded the Silver Prize of the General Public Service Award under the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2011
12 September 2011
The Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel project team of the Drainage Services Department was awarded the “Silver Prize of the General Public Service Award” under the “Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2011”. The Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on 12 September 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. By introducing the innovative concept of stormwater interception, the project constructs a drainage tunnel of about 11 km long deep into the ground in Mid-Levels of the Hong Kong Island. The drainage tunnel will intercept stormwater collected from the Mid-Levels and discharge it to the sea directly. The project is scheduled for completion in 2012. The award not only recognizes our people-based services in the project implementation, but also applauds our efforts in pioneering new technology.
