2018 HK SciFest Activity - Know More about Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme

22 April 2018

To elevate the public awareness and interest in science and technology, a talk and visit were arranged by DSD to support a large-scale annual event “HK SciFest” organized by Hong Kong Science Museum through the collaboration with organizations.

On 22 April 2018, about 30 people visited our Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Tank. Apart from introducing the mission of DSD, our colleagues also introduced the innovative elements of Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme, including the smart movable weir, the water harvesting system and energy saving design, co-use of valuable land for sustainable development, etc., to strengthen public understanding of the development of flood prevention in Hong Kong under global climate change and limited land resources.
