Contract awarded for Tuen Mun Village Sewerage and Trunk Sewers at Pillar Point

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) signed a $300 million contract with the Contractor China Road and Bridge Corporation on 20 September 2011 for construction of trunk sewers and village sewers to cope with the planned developments, and to implement sewerage works improving the environmental hygiene in unsewered villages in Tuen Mun.

The contract comprises mainly the construction of about 1 km trunk sewers in Lung Mun Road; about 8 km sewers in 4 villages namely: Tsing Shan Tsuen, Tseng Tau Sheung Tsuen, Tsing Chuen Wai and Tuen Tsz Wai; and drainage works in Tuen Mun San Tsuen. The trunk sewers at Pillar Point will be constructed by trenchless method in order to minimize disturbance to the public and the existing traffic. The contract is scheduled for completion in mid 2015.
