DSD’s Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme (2017) Award Presentation Ceremony - Let’s share the success in site cleanliness and tidiness

The Award Presentation Ceremony of DSD’s Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme (CSHAS) (2017) was successfully held on 21 March at the Lecture Theatre of Hong Kong Central Library to commend Contractors and Site Supervisory Teams having outstanding performance in site cleanliness and tidiness. There were 37 contract teams participating in the Scheme (2017). Amongst them 12 contract teams won “The Best Construction Sites Housekeeping Award” or the “Meritorious Award”, which were presented by the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Edwin TONG Ka-hung, and the Deputy Director of Drainages Services, Mr MAK Ka-wai, respectively. Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr TONG, remarked that the accident rate, work efficiency, employees’ sense of belonging and the public image of a construction site are largely hinged upon good site management and a clean and tidy working environment. He trusted every single team also recognises this truth and will exercise their best care and diligence to minimise any adverse effects on the neighbourhood during construction, so as to achieve a win-win situation. Mr TONG also announced that, starting from 2018, the “Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme” would be renamed as “Construction Sites Safety and Housekeeping Award Scheme”, which features more site safety elements for injecting new stimulants in DSD’s site safety promotion work. This year, the Grand Award goes to the Contractor, Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Co., and Site Supervisory Team, Drainage Project Division, of Contract No. DC/2012/03 - Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme. We once again congratulate each winning team, and we once again thank them for their past contribution in upkeeping the cleanliness and tidiness of DSD’s sites. We also look forward to seeing their active participation in the “Construction Sites Safety and Housekeeping Award Scheme” in the future.
