DSD awarded Contract No. DE/2017/01 “Upgrading of Kwun Tong Preliminary Treatment Work”

The Drainage Services Department signed a works contract of $207 million with Chevalier–CPC Joint Venture on 24 August 2017.The works include the provision for upgrading the preliminary treatment facilities including an inlet screw pumping system, a fine screening facility, grit removal system, deodorisation facility, influent channels and an emergency seawall bypass system, to increase the treatment capacity of Kwun Tong Preliminary Treatment Works from 330,000 to 440,000 cubic metres per day. The 48-month works contract commenced on 31 July 2017.

Mr. CHUI Wai-sing, Assistant Director/Electrical and Mechanical (third left) exchanged the signed contract with Mr. KUOK Hoi-sang, Director of Chevalier (Envirotech) Limited (second right) and Mr. HO Chung-leung, Director of CPC Construction Hong Kong Limited (second left).
