DSD awarded with the Grand Award for Public Organiaztions and two Awards for Officers of Public Organisations in The Ombudsman's Awards 2013 Ombudsman's Award 2013

The 17th Ombudsman's Awards Presentation Ceremony hosted by the Office of The Ombudsman was held on 7 November 2013.  

DSD was awarded with the Grand Award for Public Organisations to recognise the efforts in providing quality service to the public and complaint handling. The Ombudsman, Mr Alan Lai, praised DSD at the ceremony and said: “This year, the Grand Award went to the Drainage Services Department for its dedication in strengthening its relationship with the community.  The department demonstrated a positive attitude in handling complaints lodged with this Office and took remedial actions promptly.  It was keen to resolve complaints through mediation and proactive in liaising with other bodies on cross-departmental issues.  The exemplary service culture among its staff made it a deserving winner of the Grand Award.”

Apart from this award, our engineers, Mr. Sam Kai-pong, Derek and Mr. Cho Wai-hung, Mike were also awarded with the Ombudsman's Award 2013 for Officers of Public Organisations.

The Ombudsman's Awards Scheme was launched in 1997. Since 1999, the Scheme has been extended to honour individual public officers for their significant contribution in improving public service, particularly through handling complaints and redressing grievances.
