Drainage Services Department

The scope of the proposed works of the Project comprises the following:

(a)  beautification of the existing riverbanks along the approximately 2.3km long Middle Tuen Mun River Channel;

(b)  revamp the existing maintenance access adjacent to the riverbed with access ramps and stairs;

(c)  construction of viewing decks and cross-river walkways;

(d)  provision of dry weather flow intercepting (DWFI) system and DWFI 2.0 system;

(e)  provision of features for ecological enhancement and sustainable drainage system;

(f)   provision of a tidal barrier;

(g)  provision/revamp of footpaths and cycle tracks, railings, pavilions and amenity areas along the riverbanks;

(h)  adoption of smart and innovative technologies, where applicable, to enhance the control and management of the revitalised Middle Tuen Mun River Channel;

(i)   associated works including landscaping, utility works, etc; and

(j)   any other works recommended from the assessment in this contract.

This Assignment mainly includes the following services:

(a)   adoptive review, option exploration and preliminary design;

(b)   formulation and supervision of site investigations, surveys and laboratory testing;

(c)    hydraulic modelling, impact assessment studies (environmental, ecological, tree, traffic, drainage, sewerage, geotechnical, utilities, structural, etc.);

(d)    consultation with relevant stakeholders;

(e)    preparation of statutory submissions;

(f)     detailed design; 

(g)    preparation of tender documents and assessment of tenders; and

(h)    construction supervision and commissioning of the works.
