The Project comprises the following key elements :

(a)  Upgrading of Tai Po Sewage Treatment Works (TPSTW)

(i)  construction of new compact sewage treatment facilities for new West Plant with average dry weather flow (ADWF) of at least 84 000 m³/day;

(ii)  construction of new sludge treatment facilities for new West Plant with ADWF of at least 84 000 m³/day;

(iii)  enhance sludge dewatering facilities for the entire TPSTW;

(iv)  improvement works of existing East Plant to enhance performance and operation security, as well as increasing its capacity if appropriate;

(v)  construction of new inlet works, odour control facilities and development of power supply and distribution network for the entire TPSTW; and

(vi)  ancillary facilities.

(b)  Organic Waste and Sewage Sludge Co-digestion Facilities

(i)  construction of reception and co-digestion facilities for imported sewage sludge and pre-treated food waste up to 500 wet tonne per day; and

(ii)  ancillary facilities.

The scope of this consultancy, which is currently expected to commence in December 2022, is indicated in the draft Scope given in the DVD-ROM of Electronic Invitation Package (EIP) Reference EIP-CE 58/2022-T&F-0.
