DSD to hold Open Days

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) will hold Open Days at Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works on October 15 and 16 (Saturday and Sunday). Under the theme Blue-Green Infrastructure for You and Me, the event this year will introduce the work of the DSD on flood prevention, sewage treatment and combating climate change through thematic tours, display panels, model exhibitions and game booths.
 
The key projects of DSD to be featured in the event include the Relocation of Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns, the Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A, the Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme and the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Kai Tak River.
 
Other highlights include stage performances, a fun area for kids, a family planting corner and photo-taking corners. Members of the public are welcome to join this wide range of entertaining and educational programmes.
 
Admission and activities at the Open Days are free of charge. Free shuttle bus services will be provided at the following locations during the Open Days from 9.30am to 4.30pm at intervals of 10-15 minutes:
 
* Pick-up/drop-off area near MTR University Station bus terminus
* Pick-up/drop-off area at Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin (MTR Shatin Station Exit B)
