Drainage Services Department

The scope of the project comprises –
(a)   construction of about 760 metres (m) of 300 millimetres (mm) diameter single-pipe discharge rising mains connecting Shek O preliminary treatment works (PTW) to Tai Tau Chau discharge chamber, and replacement and rehabilitation of about 980 m of existing 300 mm diameter single-pipe discharge rising mains;
(b)   construction of about 350 m of 250 mm diameter twin-pipe sewage rising mains connecting Ap Lei Chau West sewage pumping station (SPS) to Ap Lei Chau PTW;
(c)   construction of about 200 m of 300 mm diameter twin-pipe sewage rising mains connecting Stanley Main Street SPS to the sewerage system at Stanley Main Street;
(d)   construction of about 400 m of 600 mm diameter twin-pipe sewage rising mains connecting Whampoa Garden SPS to the sewerage system at Tai Wan Road East; 
(e)   construction of about 150 m of 500 mm diameter single-pipe sewage rising mains connecting San Po Kong SPS to the sewerage system at Prince Edward Road East, and rehabilitation of about 150 m of existing 500 mm diameter single-pipe sewage rising mains; and
(f)   ancillary works

The operational efficiency and reliability of the relevant sewage rising mains network will be enhanced significantly when all works are completed
