Drainage Improvement in East Kowloon - Package B phase 1

Project Scope
The project aims at alleviating the flooding problems in East Kowloon including Hung Hom, Kowloon City and San Po Kong areas.
The project scope including construction of approximately 4.3km long stromwater drains and 1.3km long box culverts started in May 2006 for completion in Jan 2010.
Major Improvements and Benefits
The existing drains of insufficient capacity will be replaced with larger drain pipes and box culverts, so that the system will be greatly improved. The severe and persistent flooding problems at the flooding prone areas shall be resolved by the successful implementation of this project.
