• Upkeeping flood protection standards, formulating flood control strategy and providing advice to government departments on land drainage and flood control
• Identifying, planning and implementing research and development activities to provide better drainage services
• Coordinating sewerage issues in DSD and providing advice to government departments on impact of developments on the local sewerage system
• Applying computational hydraulic modeling for drainage system planning and sewerage system checking, and upkeeping of Hydroinformatics technologies in DSD
