Ngong Ping Sewage Treatment Information Centre

Introduction

Ngong Ping Sewage Treatment Works is the first tertiary sewage treatment plant in Hong Kong.  It has been in operation since late 2005.  The high quality effluent provides a good opportunity for effluent reuse.

A newly-furnished information centre "Ngong Ping Sewage Treatment Information Centre" is located inside the plant.  Public can visit the centre and get to know more about tertiary sewage treatment and the effluent reuse pilot scheme via various activities.

Exhibition Areas

The centre is divided into 4 different zones to introduce general sewage treatment in Hong Kong; the effluent reuse scheme; the process of tertiary sewage treatment; and Total Water Management.

Interactive Zone

This zone provides you with more information about the subjects and, at the same time, fun through taking part in interesting computer games and video film.

Fish Pond

Reclaimed water is used in a fish pond for rearing aquarium fish.
