This Assignment is mainly for the regulation of the Shenzhen River section associated with the Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point and related study. The Study includes:
(a) Assessment of effects on downstream sections of Shenzhen River upon training of the existing river upstream, and propose mitigation measures
(b) Evaluation of different schemes and recommending an optimum scheme for training of upstream section of Shenzhen River; and
(c) Feasibility study for the recommended scheme and determining land requirement.

The works comprise construction of approximately 31.2 kilometres long sewers in 6 villages (namely Tung Lo Wan, Pai Tau, Sheung Wo Che, Lok Lo Ha, Tai Lam Liu and Wu Kai Sha) in Sha Tin and 10 villages (namely Tai Mei Tuk, Wong Chuk Tsuen, Lung Mei, Ting Kok, Lo Tsz Tin, Wai Ha, Po Sam Pai, San Tau Kok, Lai Pek Shan San Tsuen and Shuen Wan Lei Uk) in Tai Po, and approximately 1.2 kilometres long trunk sewers along Tai Po Road ¡V Tai Wo. The works are scheduled to commence in January 2009 for completion in June 2012.

The works comprise upgrading of existing sewers and construction of new sewers of a total length of about 4.8 kilometres and upgrading of seven existing dry weather flow interceptors. The works are scheduled to commence in January 2009 for completion in January 2012.
