Media Interview on DSD’s Study and site trial on biodiversity improvement of drainage channels through rehabilitation of habitats for water-related organisms (Date: 26 Sep 2016)
Apple Daily, Mingpao, Singtao Daily, Oriental Daily and South China Morning Post conducted an interview with DSD Engineer, Mr. TAM Kit-fan, Keith, and the consultant, Founder of Firefly Conservation Foundation, Mr. MAK Siu-fung, Mark, on 26 September 2016. The interview covers a recently completed project, “Study and site trial on biodiversity improvement of drainage channels through rehabilitation of habitats for water-related organisms”.

This research project has achieved biodiversity improvement through rehabilitation of habitats in river channels, and has successfully brought back rare species of fireflies to the trial site. A visit to the trial site, Kwan Tei River, was arranged and all attended have experienced the results of biodiversity improvement brought about by the trial project, including the re-emergence of firefly glows in this river channel.
