28 March 2017
The award presentation ceremony of the Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme (CSHAS) (2016) organized by the Drainage Services Department (DSD) was held today (March 28) at the Leighton Hill Community Hall. Mr Edwin TONG Ka-hung, Director of Drainage Services, and Mr MAK Ka-wai, Deputy Director of Drainage Services, presented the awards to the winning teams. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr TONG emphasized that tidy and safe construction sites help to prevent accidents, and enhance the image of construction industry in the community. “I urge all project teams to expand empathy and try the best to minimize the impact of construction projects on the public, in order to create a win-win situation.” said Mr TONG. CSHAS was launched in 2004 with the aim of raising the housekeeping standard of DSD’s construction sites. There are three types of awards, namely the Grand Award, the Best Construction Sites Housekeeping Award and the Meritorious Award. A total of 27 awards were presented to 13 teams this year in recognition of their outstanding housekeeping performance at their construction sites, and five of them won the Best Construction Sites Housekeeping Award.
