Two DSD facilities were awarded the Final Platinum rating and Provisional Platinum rating under BEAM Plus

Two facilities of the Drainage Services Department (DSD), namely the "Provision of Interception Facilities at Jordan Valley Box Culvert – Pumping Station" and the "Shek Chung Au Sewage Pumping Station", were bestowed the Final Platinum rating and Provisional Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings respectively, recognising the outstanding achievements of the department in promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.
In the certificate presentation ceremony, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Edwin Tong, said that DSD has proactively incorporated green and sustainable development elements in implementing its flood prevention and sewage treatment infrastructure projects, and will continue to promote the wider use of green building for the sustainable development in Hong Kong.
Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM) Plus Assessment is a comprehensive environmental assessment scheme for buildings recognised by Hong Kong Green Building Council. BEAM Plus New Buildings covers the demolition, planning, design, construction and commissioning of a new building project. It seeks to reduce environmental impacts of a new building and improve environmental quality. |
