Overtopping of the Pak Kong River embankment at Tai Chung Hau has often occurred during heavy rainstorms in the past years resulting in flooding to the adjoining areas including Hiram’s Highway. To reduce the risk of overtopping, DSD implemented drainage improvement works to Pak Kong River at Tai Chung Hau and reconstructed an existing footbridge across the river.  The works commenced in March 2016 and were completed in May 2017.
