DSD participated in the “CLAP for Youth @ JC”

12 April 2017

To help Hong Kong youth discover their passions and abilities, and explore multiple pathways to a fulfilling adulthood, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (JC) Charities Trust collaborates with various organizations such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University to pioneer a five-year career and life adventure planning programme known as "CLAP for Youth @ JC" (the programme) in 2015, helping students and non-engaged youth plan their futures. By participating in one of the programme events, “Career Explorer – Government Departments” (有職可尋-政府部門篇), students can visit different Government Departments and learn about their job duties.

DSD has been the participating organisation and arranged visits for students since 2016. On 12 April this year, about 40 students visited our Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Tank and Siu Ho Wan Sewage Treatment Works. Apart from introducing DSD’s work and daily operation of the visiting facilities, our colleagues also shared with the students their career planning and work life during the visit.
